I enjoyed the wild-gleaning of fruit trees in Big I HI a few yrs ago, we used giant bamboo poles to poke lose ripe papayas (my fav.) & quickly drop the pole to try to catch the falling softies skillfully enuf to bring them home whole to share; if it smashed, too bad we were forced to indulge in a scrumptious & delectable feast then & there!= Win-Win!!
